Louis Adamo Memorial Bursary
Louis Adamo Memorial Bursary will award 2 bursaries in the amount of $1,634.50 each
Lou Adamo was a certified engineering technologist in the research division of Ontario Hydro. After finishing high school at Northern Technical in Toronto, he started work at Ontario Hydro rewinding motors from 25 Hz to 60 Hz. His supervisor told him that he needed more education to get ahead, so he enrolled in the engineering technology program at Ryerson. He spent several years at night school finishing his degree. Although it was a struggle to combine full time work, raise a family and attend night school; he was always a dedicated (and fun!) husband and father. By the 1970’s, he was promoted and became supervisor of the technologists in his division, and was responsible for hiring. He worked closely with local community colleges, including Sheridan College.
He was a believer in the power of education.
