Jordan Smith Bursary

In loving memory of Jordan Smith (1989-2020), family and friends have set up a scholarship fund for underprivileged ASD students to participate in Spectrum Productions programming. This bursary was created in celebration of Jordan Smith’s life, and is inspired by her work as a teacher and resulting care and support she offered to her students. She cared about making sure those with barriers found the supports they needed. This bursary was raised by family, friends and community contributions through a gofundme campaign to celebrate her life and her values. You can read about the full campaign and read a message from her family and friends by clicking on the link provided on the website . All are welcome to apply, but the following factors will be taken into consideration when the Jordan Smith Family bursary committee meets:

  • female
  • race diversity
  • someone under privileged or lacking financial resources to attend
  • someone in a situation where they otherwise wouldn’t access / discover such an opportunity exists or haven’t been afforded full integration into autistic community before.

At this time, there is one annual bursary awarded that will cover the costs of attending a 2 week General or Youth Summer Video Production Camp, OR Flex camp. The value of this bursary is set at the annual cost of the summer camp program fees

*in 2021 the 2 week camp fees were $893, and Flex camp fees were $810
