CAWIC Annual Bursary

The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) is a not-for-profit organization of women working in various construction-related fields. Its mandate is to facilitate the long-term success of women in the construction industry.

This year CAWIC is offering a number of $2,000.00 bursaries to female students enrolled in construction related studies at Canadian post-secondary institutions.

In addition to the CAWIC Bursaries, six $1,000 bursaries are available to those studying in a trades program as part of the Cooper Bursary for Women in Construction (CBWC). To be eligible for the Cooper Bursary for Women
in Construction (CBWC) is considering women from the following provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

Minimum qualifications are:

  • Applicant must identify as female
  • Completion of at least the first year of a diploma or degree program at a college or university and
    be enrolled full time in the continuing year
  • Demonstrate clear career objectives relating to the construction industry
  • Evidence of financial need
  • Leadership qualities and involvement in community activities
  • Interest in activities that further the advancement of women in construction, and
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent resident status
