Parmeet Singh Rawal Memorial Bursary

In loving memory of Parmeet Singh Rawal, a loving son, a cherished brother, an adored grandson, and a remarkable friend to anyone he met. Despite departing from this world at such a young age, the legacy he leaves behind is profound and enduring.

As a proud alumnus of Sheridan College, Parmeet showed us what truly unwavering determination and resilience look like. Overcoming the challenges of a physical disability, he not only graduated from high school but also completed the Child and Youth Care program at Sheridan. Driven by his passion, he advanced to York University to delve further into the realm of social work. His commitment to his education was fueled by a sincere aspiration to uplift children and youth, aiming to make a real difference in their lives through his innate caring nature.

Parmeet was very knowledgeable and passionate about the profound teachings of Sikhism. He was an embodiment of Sikh values and was immersed in his local Sikh community, spending much of his time learning and conversing with people at local Gurudwaras and learning kirtan (Indian classical music). A talented tabla player, Parmeet played harmoniously alongside internationally renowned Raagis (Sikh musicians), further testifying to his commitment and talent.

Combined with an array of passions, Parmeet was a truly well-rounded person. But what endeared him most to his friends and family was his positive and uplifting spirit. He was the heartbeat of every gathering – witty, charming, and endlessly charismatic. He bridged gaps, connecting with people from all walks of life, regardless of age or background. Everywhere he went, Parmeet radiated positivity, touching hearts and inspiring souls.

Through the Parmeet Singh Rawal Memorial Bursary, we seek to extend his legacy, aiming to assist students who, like Parmeet, have an unyielding drive to learn and serve the community. In his name,
we hope to continue lighting the path for others, just as he did during his time with us.

Sincerely,
Parmeet’s Loving Family
