Jack Schnoor Memorial Scholarship Fund
Jack Schnoor (1934-2001) was born in Winnipeg and received his Bachelor of Social Work (1963) and Master of Social Work (1964) at the University of Manitoba. Before moving to Toronto in 1977, Jack was a social worker at the Children’s Aid Society. Jack taught at Sheridan College for 17 years (1980 – 1997) in the Social Service Worker program. His devoted teaching and personable style left a lasting impression on his students and colleagues. In 1999, 2 years after he retired, Jack was honoured with the title Professor Emeritus. He passed away in 2001 at the age of 66. The Jack Schnoor Memorial Scholarship honours a student who emulates Jack Schnoor’s strong qualities of caring and interpersonal skills.
