Medical Expense Bursary for International Students

This bursary is available to international students who incurred out-of-pocket medical expenses not covered by their health insurance plan (guard.me).

There are a maximum of 10 bursaries available for the Spring/Summer term. Up to a maximum of $500.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Enrolled as an international student in the Spring/Summer 2024 term. Students enrolled in Joint-Degree programs are excluded.
• Must include sufficient supporting documentation in order to be considered for the bursary (see below).

Supporting Documentation Which Must Be Submitted with Application:

• In detail, please outline your need for the bursary (100 words minimum, not to exceed 250 words)
• Documentation is required to assist the Selection Committee in assessing your application. You must include a receipt of payment for your medical expense along with notification that your claim was not covered through guard.me insurance. For Dependents; must have purchased separate guard.me insurance and provide guard.me denial with name of dependent and policy number with appropriate documentation. Applicants must first claim the expense(s) through guard.me insurance.

Please note: if you were previously awarded this bursary, only new documentation should be submitted with a new application.
